Gabríela Fridriksdóttir is an Icelandic contemporary artist, who was the festival artist during Oktoberdans in 2006. In her installations she uses different artistic expressions such as paintings, sculptures, drawing, performance, music and video works. Fridriksdóttir was Iceland's representative during the Venice Biennial in 2005 with the installation Versations Tetralogia.

In the exhibition at USF during Oktoberdans the four Tetralogia videos from the biennial were exhibited. The videos were made in collaboration with Björk, Daníel Áugúst Haraldsson, Erna Ómarsdóttir and Sigurður Guðjónsson. The installation let the spectator examine an underworld of symbols, strongly bizarre images and sounds. The videos explore the intersection between dream and reality, searching for an expression of emotional lack of balance, desire, chaos and primal forces. In addition the videos Melankólía and Katharsis were shown. Both the latter were made in collaboration with Erna Ómarsdóttir, an Icelandic choreographer who also visited the festival with her production Mysteries of Love the same year.

The exhibition was curated by BIT Teatergarasjen, represented by Marie Nerland, and was presented in collaboration with USF Verftet. The exhibition was part of BergArt.
