Fumiyo Ikeda has been a member of the company Rosas since its very beginning in 1983. She has taken part in the creative process and has danced in many of Rosas' performances, films and videos. Besides Fumiyo Ikeda has worked with Steve Paxton, Needcompany, Josse De Pauw and Tom Jansen, among others, and she has taken part in a number of movies and theatre productions. In 2007 she made the production Nine Finger with Benjamin Verdonck and Alain Platel.
The workshop during Meteor was based on choreographic material made by Ikeda for this production, and her solo from the production Zeitung. The workshop emphasised the relationship between language and dance.
The workshop was aimed towards professional dancers and was arranged by BIT Teatergarasjen in collaboration with Carte Blanche.
