Mamsepapsen* (Mommypoppy)

Mamsepapsen* (Mommypoppy) by Karlsvogna Theatre revolved around longing and dreams, to dare believe in one’s longing and dreams and to think that they can become real despite all common sense, yes, even against nature. The character Mamsepapsen is a red-mouthed and red-nosed clown, his hair up and his pants and shoes enormous. The audience followed him from morning to evening.

"Dearest Moon! I am dreaming and longing for a girlfriend and a baby. Can you help me?"

Press coverage

"A charming little fable, light as a soap bubble. Karl Sundby has hit the exact correct note for a clown, warm, weird, comical and moving at the same time. Many circus clowns could learn from him." Nationen

Friendly, warm and melancholic meeting." Indre Akershus Blad

"Almost without words, with rich mimicry and a vivid body language Sundby presents a simple and poetic little drama." Adresseavisen

"Karl Sundby is such a sensitive actor and mimic he is able to keep the attention, despite a somewhat difficult subject. It is not hard to understand why Mamsepapsen was awarded the first prize of the children’s theatre competition Scenario '92." Romerikes Blad

"(...) It wasn’t too easy being an adult, either, when Sundby kept switching between his naughty and moving styles. It is screamingly funny, and no one was surprised when the children eventually lay on the floor laughing, having to be lifted back to their seats by the clown Mamsepapsen." Larviksposten
