More

In The Adorer’s Journal Øyvind Jørgensen purified his expressive form, in a performance expressing and studying adoration and worship, whether related to religion, money, idols or body.

With The Adorer’s Journal Øyvind Jørgensen showed us the most intimate and personal spaces. Humans at their most – and least – beautiful. Øyvind Jørgensen has developed his physical language to give voice to an inner voice. He revealed this to the audience using his strong scenic presence.

Press coverage

"During Øyvind Jørgensen’s performance an etheric contact between dancer and onlooker is established. The adoration and worship he observes in his performance is directed towards the onlooker and causes an intense communication between inner voices." Grete Indahl (2000, 00.05). Klassekampen

"Øyvind Jørgensen’s dance is refined and hurtful at the same time, and its fragility is always moving." Marit Strømmen (2001, 00.04). Bergens Tidende

"The most fascinating thing about Jørgensen is how the inner experience, emotion and idea become the physical expression. He transforms, before our very eyes, from a happy, somewhat whimsical person to a hunch-backed old man or a nervous person in despair, without footing in life." Fredrik Rütter (2000, 00.05).
