Kainos sang* (Kaino’s Song) by Teater Grimsborken has set its action to World War II, when 70.000 children was evacuated from Finland to Sweden. The children were aged 0-14 years and came alone or with siblings; all of them wearing address tags around their necks. They were uprooted from their homes and placed with strangers, talking an unknown language in an unknown community.

| Other | It is preferred to hold the performance on the floor (not on stage), with the audience in a frontal amphi theatre, which can be made using mats, benches and chairs. If there is a stage in the room, the hall can be reversed, using the stage as part of the amphi theatre. Good acoustics are necessary! The performance hall must hold a stabile temperature of no less than 18 C! Total darkening is not necessary, but ambient/ day light must be regulated. |
In Kainos sang* (Kaino’s Song) Teater Grimsborken tells the story about Kaino through simple, yet powerful effects, in a performance in which the expression rests on the three actors. The current-interest theme is conveyed in an informal manner, with the kind of intensity and intimacy that invites the audience to be captured by the action and to identify with Kaino and her family.
Kainos sang was supported by The Norwegian Actors' Association's fund for freelancers, The Fund for Performing Artists, The Audio Visual Fund, The Norwegian-Finnish Culture Fund, The Deichman Library of Grunerløkka and The Salvation Army’s shops Fretex.
