A Circle within a Spiral

A Circle within a Spiral is a dance production for youth by Dans & Toner. Three different contemporary choreographers have collaborated with a composer in interpreting each their stage of life; childhood, youth, adult life.

When do we stop being children? Do we ever really grow up? Are we always underway? Or does everything just go in circles?

At the webpage of Dans & Toner the following, among other things, is written about A Circle within a Spiral:

"Three different contemporary choreographers have created each their part of a story. The choreographies range from the absurd to the lyrical. They do not end, but transform into one another, and merge into a unit. The musical expression, developed throughout collaboration between the choreographer and composer, range from the classical and melodic to modern rhythms. This is how we present a story told by three "narrators" with one "colourist".  The spiral represents the human search for knowledge, meaning and consciousness. The circle represents time, the circle of life. The symbolism is further examined in three ballets dealing with the life phases of childhood, youth and adult life."
