On the webpage of BIT Teatergarasjen the following, among other things, is written about KAZAK: the expedition by NONcompany:

"KAZAK is a planned trilogy moving through the boreal forests, the taiga, tightening around the Earth between the 60eth and 70eth latitude. In KAZAK: The Expedition NONcompany aims to deliver a staged lecture based on a journey from Elverum to Vladivostok the summer of 2011. The production discusses searching and belonging. How to find one’s way through anything this size?"

On the webpage of Avant Garden the following, among other things, is written about KAZAK: the expedition:

"What connects the people in the pinewood forest? Are there any mutual characteristics other than white spirits, frozen soil and high kicking? Or are these myths, too?

In the project KAZAK NONcompany embarks on a journey through the pinewood, literally. To be more precise, the company members embark on an expedition through large parts of the taiga, the big belt of pinewood forest covering parts of Norway, almost all of Sweden and Finland, and large parts of Russia, Alaska and Canada.

KAZAK: the expedition is the first of three productions to build on this journey and the material gathered along the way. This performance is staged as a 'lecture' on mutual characteristics between neighbours and the truth about the people of the forest. In reality the company discusses the search for identity and the confusion one can feel when one is in the middle of something too vast to see the expanse of."

KAZAK: the expedition by NONcompany was supported by The Audio Visual Fund, Arts Council Norway and the municipality of Bergen, the department of art and culture and the Norwegian Ministry for Foreign Affairs/MFA (travel grant/performing arts).
