About Peer Gynt

Peer Gynt was a theatre production by The National Theatre, produced in 1985 and based on the play by Henrik Ibsen. The production was performed at the theatre's main stage.

The director was Edith Roger, who had also directed the same play for The National Theatre in 1975.

In 1985, Peer Gynt was staged in three versions with three partly different casts, on the occasion of the opening of the restored main stage of The National Theatre after a fire in 1980.

In the first performed version, Toralv Maurstad acted the role of Peer Gynt, Wenche Foss Aase and Unni Kristin Skagestad Solveig.

In the second performed version, Svein Sturla Hungnes acted the role of Peer Gynt, Liv Dommersnes Aase and Linn Stokke Solveig.

In the third performed version, Nils Ole Oftebro acted the role of Peer Gynt, Ingerid Vardund Aase and Bente Brunvoll Solveig.
