Peer Gynt No. 371
Peer Gynt no. 371 (2005) was a dance production by Øyvind Jørgensen Productions in collaboration with The Norwegian Touring Theatre, inspired by Henrik Ibsen's Peer Gynt. The opening took place at Black Box Teater, Oslo.
Øyvind Jørgensen choreographed it.
The role of Peer was shared by three dancers: Sittibancha Bamphen, Nils Jakob Johannesen and Biniam Yhidego, also known as Biniam A. Gezai.
The production focused on the main character 'Peer' in an abstract dance version. The performance showed the young, the middle-aged and the elder Peer.

At the outer level, Peer Gynt is about dreams and ambitions meeting the 'real' world. Peer grows up in a small community where he fails to find his place, never becoming a part of society. This leads to him never to be taken seriously by the others.
At a deeper level, "Peer Gynt" is about spiritual dimensions connected to finding one's identity and one's place in a greater context, the search for a meaning and finally, the realisation of one self.
In Peer Gynt nr. 371, Peer was played by dancers Sittibancha Bampen, Nils Jakob Johannesen and Biniam Yhidego (also known as Biniam A. Gezai), with origins in Asia, Europe and Asia.
Peer Gynt no. 371 was produced by Øyvind Jørgensen Productions and Riksteateret, and was funded by The Cultural Rucksack, The Audio Visual Fund and The Fund for Performing Artists.
