About Bondeopprør 1540* (Peasant Uprising 1540)

The historical reenactment Bondeopprør 1540* ("Peasant Uprising 1540") was made in cooperation between the rural societies of Hjartdal and Seljord, in collaboration with Grenland Friteater.

Bondeopprør 1540 described the bloodiest peasant uprising ever to have found place in Norway, in Hjartdal in Telemark. This was a play about betrayal and independence.
