Tre skuespill* (Three Plays)

The autumn of 2004 the playwright Finn Iunker had the book Tre skuespill* (Three Plays) published by the publishing house Cappelen. In Avant Garden the next spring Finn Iunker read from Tre skuespill during an event titled Tre Skuespill. Per Ananiassen, then a dramaturge at Trøndelag Theatre, led a conversation with Iunker about his work.

*The book is not translated into English and the title within the parentheses is the Norwegian title's literal meaning. The plays, however, all are translated into English and published in separate editions.

In 2003 Finn Iunker was nominated as the Norwegian candidate for The Nordic Drama Prize with two of the plays in the book Tre Skuespill* (Three Plays), Iphigeneia and Dealing with Helen

Iphigeneia and Dealing with Helen build on two tragedies by Euripides, in a manner making them significant expressions of our own time. The plays were watched by close to 7000 persons when performed in Antwerp during the summer of 2003. In 2006 Iphigeneia was staged in Lisbon by Antònio Simão, who has also staged Play Alter Native, the third play of the book.

Finn Iunker won the national Norwegian Ibsen Award in 2006.
