More

The Fakir by Espen Dekko was about a man’s hard and painful way rising from the gutter. As a fakir he experiences feeling recognised and respected, though the cost it has to challenge his own limits increases. He is driven by being loved and valued until he is confronted with the question if what is valued by the world is really him or just his pain. The story takes us into a dark landscape where the world is displayed from another angle than we like to admit being part of us.

The Fakir by Espen Dekko was produced with support from Arts Council Norway and was part of the Contemporary Stage Festival program of The Open Theatre (Det Åpne Teater) in 2007.
