De Damene Danseteater was established in 1995, and has since the start consisted of two dancers who choreograph and produce the work of the company. De Damene aims to bring dance out to the people! They have concentrated on children and youth as the main target group. With an expression approaching dance theatre the company wants to meet an audience not normally choosing dance.
De Damene aspires to create dance productions of high quality, available for a larger audience. The company wishes to promote the interest for dance and with expansive touring meeting the audience where the audience is. Using simple effects De Damene transforms untraditional dance arenas to venues for the different dance productions.
