Elisabeth Beanca Halvorsen

Elisabeth Beanca Halvorsen (born 1979 in Fredrikstad) is a Norwegian translator and writer. She is educated with a major degree in German and a master's degree in non-fiction writing. She has followed Elfriede Jelinek's writing since 2000, including in her thesis Das Phänomen Elfriede Jelinek

Halvorsen was nominated for The Hedda Award 2018 in the best text for the stage category for her translation of Jelinek's Das Licht im Kasten, produced by Trøndelag Theatre in 2018.

In 2010 she published Piker, Wien og klagesang - Om Elfriede Jelineks forfatterskap (literally: Women, Vienna and Laments - About Elfriede Jelinek's writings) in Gyldendal's series called Pegasus. She has translated a number of Jelinek's works into the Norwegian, including Women as Lovers (Gyldendal, 2006) and Ulrike Maria Stuart (The National Theatre, 2007).
