Camilla Vatne Barratt-Due

Camilla Vatne Barratt-Due is a Norwegian sound artist and musician. Her works encompass performance, installations and musical instrument design. She builds altered mechanical systems and develops her own performing practices, often using live coding and other DIY electronics.

Her work has been shown at venues and festivals including Akademie der Künste, Hebbel am Ufer (HAU), Stamsund Teaterfestival, Black Box Teater, the Bergen International Festival, Piksel (Bergen) and Insomnia (Tromsø). She has composed music for works by stage artists such as Ingri Fiksdal, Eirik Fauske, Espen Klouman Høiner, Meg Stuart and Rosalind Goldberg. In 2021 she was selected to be part of the SHAPE platform for innovative music and arts in Europe – where she established herself as Canilla and released her debut album, You always wanted more in life, but now you don’t have the appetite, released on Street Pulse Records.

Education

Camilla studied the accordion at The Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen (BA), and later studied for a masters degree in Klangkunst (sound art) at Universität der Künste Berlin.
