Alexander Scherpf

Alex Scherpf (born February 26 1955 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein, dead August 9 2014 in Søgne, Norway) was a Norwegian-German director, actor, translator and artistic director.

He studied direction at The National Academy of Theatre (1982-1985).

He headed Agder Theatre (2004-2008) and Beaivváš Sámi Našunálateáhter/The Norwegian National Sami Theatre Company (1997-2002).

Alex Scherpf was the artistic director of the movie producing company Amaldus Film from 2008.

In 2007 the production Natta* (The Night), directed by Alex Scherpf for Agder Theatre, was nominated for The Hedda Award in the category of best production for children and youth.
