Swagatam er en nysirkusproduksjon av Circus Kathmandu.

"Swagatam (Velkommen) er inspirert av hverdagsliv og myter fra Nepal. Forestillingen er en eksotisk blanding av sirkus, teater og dans som skaper en helt særegen form for underholdning. Sirkusartistene har alle sterke historier fra deres egne liv å bære på, og som de deler med oss. De er stolte av å skape fremtiden til Nepals nye sirkus."

"Swagatam is an extraordinary piece of contemporary circus mixing breath-taking acts with highly creative and effortlessly fluid ensemble work. Beautiful, colourful and sometimes comical aspects of Nepal are abstractly captured through a rich and diverse physical landscape, and a unique bed of sound inspired by traditional Nepali music and sounds captured from the real life happenings of Kathmandu.

There are two versions available of all shows: one incorporates aerial skills (harness, hoop, silks), the other is floor based, requiring no rigging."

Swagatam av Circus Kathmandu ble støttet av Utenriksdepartementet (støtte til kulturutveksling med land i sør-Scenekunst).
