Forum for Lettbeint Underholdningsteater (FLUT, or literally: Forum for Light-Weight Entertainment Theatre) was a loose association of comedians wishing to test new ideas, characters and scenic effects in front of a critical, but open audience.
FLUT wanted to be experimental in the original meaning of the term: They wanted to test ideas, not for the sake of testing, but in hope to develop a kind of comedy which could one day entertain thousands, yes, perhaps millions of Norwegians. FLUT should first and foremost be a laboratory for ideas seemingly silly to today’s society, perhaps directly foolish, but which possibly could carry the seed for the comical successes of tomorrow.
