"What do you do when you've reached mid-life, and nothing is as it is supposed to be? Yay! You start a band with your best buddies. Midt i livet is a production with generous humour about a mid-life crisis with dance music and the opportunity to dance some.
Three extremely single men in midlife still search for the one and only. The unworried time of youth when they became friends at a non-degree granting college is long past. The time when they played in a band together, and dreamt big dreams.
Many years have gone by. Dreams remained dreams, and the contact between the three has been sporadic. All of a sudden they discover that everyone around them is married, has a station wagon, children and a mountain cabin. They decide to get going, to find girlfriends so that the next phase of their lives may start. They miss the contact they had - and as history proves, if you play in a band, your chances of finding a girl are relatively good. So they revive their band; now this may kill many birds with one stone! They can play music and party together - and the nice times they had will rise again, of course. And not least: They will become attractive to women. (...)
In the production by Bjørnar Lisether Teigen we are granted more than just dance music. We get to know the stories of three good friends who step by step down their guard. But bring your dancing shoes anyway. For dance music is dance music is dance music."
