Dear Liar

Dear Liar was a theatre production by The National Theatre, produced in 1961, and based on the play by Jerome Kilty.

Kilty's text is a comedy of letters, building on the correspondence between the playwright George Bernard Shaw and the actress Mrs. Patrick Campbell (often referred to as Mrs. Pat).

Gerda Ring directed it.

Per Aabel and Lillebil Ibsen shared Norwegian Critics' Award 1961 for their portrayals of George Bernard Shaw and Mrs. Patrick Campbell in Dear Liar. The performance March 26 1966 doubled as celebration of Ibsen's 50th anniversary as an actress. The two of them repeated their roles several times, until the last performance at The National Theatre in 1981.
