More

I Apologize by Gisèle Vienne uses a female and a male actor as tools, plus a number of humanoid puppets which are practically similar to approximately 12 year old girls.

Gisèle Vienne writes on her webpage that the production examines the mentality of violence in humans, with paedophilia, death longing, sexual perversions and murder as underlying themes.

Peter Rehberg has written the music for I Apologize, while the American writer Dennis Coopers has written monologues and poems, read by himself in sound recordings throughout the performance.

I Apologize was supported by Centre Choréographique National de Grenoble as part of Accueil Studio 2004, Ministère de la Culture/Drac Rhône-Alpes, Conseil Régional Rhône-Alpes, Conseil Général de l´Isère and ske/Autriche. It was also supported by L´Institut International de la Marionnette and Compagnie des Indes.
