We were a couple or three-four boys who used to grab one of the girls and if she started hitting or kicking, it was no problem, we just dragged her into the woodwork room or another room in which there was no people. How the girl took it I don’t know, she was laughing all the time."

Seksuell Empati Vol. 1 - Handlinger* (Sexual Empathy Vol. 1 – Actions) by Flaatenbjørk kompani asks the questions what makes an action a sexual act and where the limit to what is offensive goes.
To youth sex can be experienced as strange and close at the same time. Sex also is very ambivalent material considering that it can be the most wonderful in the world or the worst in the world – if one experiences sexual abuse. Seksuell Empati Vol. 1 - Handlinger tried to look at sex as something more than the immediate excitement, rather some kind of human communication – sexual communication. The central question was what can happen if the two does experience the game differently.
Performing artist Jarl Flaaten Bjørk has in collaboration with dramaturge Carl Jørn Johansen and video and sound designer Kristjan Belgau made physical, visual performance theatre discussing sexual communication and sexual acts.
Flaatenbjørk kompani has made a production characterised by a strong personal involvement discussing body language and human communication in a time of a highly sexualised media reality. Seksuell Empati Vol. 1 - Handlinger was composed in a mix of genres, including standup, personal stories and traditional realist theatre.
