Constructed Love

Constructed Love by Banality Dreams was an absurd physical theatre performance which in a subtle way plays on the different appearances of Love and Sexuality, in a setting of irony and humour. The great true LOVE... Who hasn't heard of it? At least from Hollywood films, novels and publicity posters. But what remains if you discover that this LOVE only is an empty shell of clichés and kitsch?

More

In Constructed Love by Banality Dreams the two performers, with their reckless humour, banal dialogues and absurd choreographies, in an attempt to unmask the everyday-life manifestations of this great-true LOVE. - Yes, maybe is it not even LOVE but only a social convention between people who prefer to suffocate together rather than to be alone. But - by and by - does a feeling of something come real and true, and in the end the audience isn’t quite sure anymore whether the contradictory and confusing emotions displayed, might not after all be the great true LOVE that everybody is craving and searching for.

"The superbly frustrated shared life choreography of Dullin and Holtsmark has the comic nerve of Woody Allen's 'Annie Hall' " Verena Drosner, Jurymember, 100° Festival, Berlin
