More

Proda was established in 1988 on initiative from Norwegian Ballet Union (now NoDa, the Norwegian association for dancers, choreographers and dance pedagogues). The endeavour is supported by the Norwegian Ministry of Culture as part of improving the group of artists’ working and living conditions.

Practice and conveying of dance demand continuous and specific training. Proda arranges classes within all dance expressions and benefits everyone who works with dance.

Proda is an important part of dance infrastructure and its centres function as resource centres and meeting points throughout the country. Proda is mainly financed by governmental support, but it also receives support from the municipality of Oslo and economic contributions from several other municipalities and counties.

To use the offering the criteria of three years higher education within dance and/or several years of working professionally is a criteria.
