Mona Haddy Jatou N'jie

Mona Haddy Jatou N'jie, most often referred to as Haddy N'jie (born 1979, Oslo) is a Norwegian singer, song writer, writer and journalist.

In 2008 she wrote, with Fredrik Lyngås Pedersen, the play Jeg vet hvorfor* (I Know Why) for the drama for youth platform DUS - Den Unge Scenen.

As a solo artist Haddy N'jie has put out the records White Lies (2005), Welcome Home (2007) and World of The Free (2010). She has toured lower secondary schools with Concerts Norway.

Mona Haddy Jatou N'jie has worked for the news program Dagsrevyen (Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation) and written for a number of Norwegian magazines as a freelancer, including Kvinner & Klær and Helsemagasinet Puls.

From the summer of 2007 she has been a regular Saturday commenter for the newspaper Dagbladet. She also has staged two full-length shows with the cabaret company Queendom, for which she is a text writer, a singer and an actress.

The autumn of 2008 N'jie made her book debut with the book Dans, dans! (literally: Dance, dance!) and the Queendom book Oppdrag Norge (literally: Assignment Norway).

The autumn of 2009 she hosted Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation’s annual TV gala with Dan Børge Akerø. In May 2010 she hosted the international Eurovision Song Contest 2010 with Erik Solbakken and Nadia Hasnaoui. She also hosted the national TV broadcast memorial concert after the terror attacks in Oslo and at Utøya the summer of 2011.

In the Norwegian Who is who? she is mentioned among the country’s ten most influential persons with a minority background. The father of Mona Haddy Jatou N'jie is from The Gambia, her mother is from Norway. She grew up in Kolbotn southeast of Oslo.
